Area Activities

If you want to sample some of the activities that bring folks from all over the world to Central Florida, your choices are many: Bike ride or walk on country lanes or village side streets. Cassadaga, a village on National Register of Historic Places, and world renown as a center for psychics and mediums is just around the corner. Lake Helen has a Historic District with turn of the century homes, churches and antique shops. DeLand, only seven miles away, has an old fashioned downtown area with antique and gift shops, art galleries, bookstores, museums, restaurants and Stetson University. The lakes along the famous St. Johns River are a paradise for boating and fishing. More fun in the sun is only minutes away at New Smyrna Beach, Daytona Beach, several state parks and a national wildlife preservation area. A forty minute drive brings you to the Orlando theme parks.

We are very fortunate to be located near a section of the Cross Volusia Trail. Our own walking trail goes through our woods and connects to the Cassadaga-Lake Helen completed section of the trail. This section meanders through woods and along the sides of Lake Colby and Lake Macy. When completed in its entirety, the trail will cross all of Volusia County and tie into other Florida trails.
